NMAT 2010 Analysis

Overall exam pattern:

The first online NMAT was conducted in 2010.The Difficulty level was easy to moderate. There was no negative markings. The No. of questions were reduced from 150 to 120 questions to be solved in 120 minutes.

Candidates with good speed could have attempted 90 to 110 questions in given allotted time frame.

LR section consisted of 40 questions which could be solved in 30-35 minutes as this section was easy to solve but few questions made it time consuming. The cut off for this section could be 28-30 questions with 90% accuracy.

The VA section consisted of 40 questions which could be solved in 35-40 min. The Difficulty level was easy to moderate. The RC passages was quite easy & short. Fill in the blanks based on preposition were bit tricky. There were synonyms and antonyms of words like petulant, admonition, emphasis etc. An overall attempt of 22-24 questions with 90% accuracy could be an ideal attempt to score a decent percentile.

Unexpectedly the questions from number were tricky whereas questions from Data sufficiency were easy but time consuming. The questions were of easy to moderate difficulty level. This section consisted of 48 questions to be solved in 38 minutes.
