Overall exam pattern:

IIFT 2013 consisted of 4 sections viz. Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, Verbal ability & Reading comprehension, Quantitative ability. The difficulty level was easy to moderate. There were no negative markings. It consisted of 128 questions to be solved in 120 min.

Detailed Sectional Analysis :

 Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning :

The questions from DI were time consuming & intensive calculations as it was difficult. Most students would have attempted 15 -16 questions with 80% accuracy. The questions from LR were of easy to moderate difficulty level. A good student would attempt 15-17 questions with 85% accuracy.

General awareness :

The question on GA was quite simpler than previous year’s as it was not lengthy. A good student would attempt 15-18 attempts with 75% accuracy.

Verbal Ability & Reading comprehension :

VA section had a good mix of vocabulary based questions, idioms, grammar based questions, paragraph formation. Average attempt would have been12- 15 questions.

The RC passages were long but not very tricky; it consisted of 4 passages with 4 questions each. A good candidate could have solved it within 20 minutes.

 Quantitative ability :

QA was the most difficult section of all. There were total 25 questions of 1 mark each. Difficulty level was moderate to tough. Average attempt would have been 15-17 questions.
