CET 2014 Analysis

Overall exam pattern:

CET was first conducted on online in 2014. It consisted of 5 sections which included Verbal ability, Logical reasoning, Quantitative Ability, Visual reasoning, Data interpretation. It consisted of 200 questions to be solved in 150 min. The difficulty level was easy to difficult.

B Verbal ability RC, CR, sentence correction, synonyms & antonyms, sentence arrangement, cloze test.
C Logical reasoning Syllogisms, Analogies, Blood relations, symbols, Decision making, codes.
D Data interpretation Tables, Pie chart, bar graphs, line graphs.
E Visual reasoning Critical reasoning

Detailed Sectional Analysis:

 Quantitative Ability :

There were 25 questions in QA section. Majority of the questions were from arithmetic & straightforward & involved quick calculations. The difficulty level was moderate.

Logical reasoning :

There were 60 questions in LR section. Majority of questions were from alphanumeric series, linear arrangement, & coding-decoding. This section most difficult of all sections as well as time consuming.

Verbal Ability:

It consisted of 50 questions. Other Questions were on vocabulary, Fill in the blanks, para-jumbles, grammar. The difficulty level was easy to moderate. The questions were not time consuming.

Visual Reasoning :

It consisted of 30 questions. The questions were dominated by series completion. Major questions were straightforward & options could be easily eliminated while choosing correct answers. The difficulty level was easy to moderate.

Data Interpretation & Data sufficiency :

It consisted of 35 questions. The questions of data sufficiency were easy compared to data interpretation but the graphs & charts were quite interpretable & had intensive calculations. The questions were of easy to moderate difficulty level.
