Common Admission Test abbreviated as CAT is an all India level examination organized by the Indian Institute of Management based on the policy of rotation. The exam comprised in the verbal ability, quantitative ability, logical reasoning and data interpretation. The CAT 2016 Exam will be held in the month of November.

Required Eligibility Criteria for CAT 2016
Before starting the CAT application process; candidates must ensure they conforming the eligibility criteria of CAT 2016 as prescribed.
Candidates who have graduation degree in any discipline are eligible to apply CAT
Candidates who want to appear in CAT should have attained minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. For reserved categories the percentage is reduced to 45%.
The candidates studying in the final year of graduation can also register for CAT 2016 provided that they have to qualify the same with given Eligibility Criteria.
Reservation of Seats for CAT 2016
Reservation of seats for SC Candidates: 15%
Reservation of seats for ST candidates: 7.5%
Reservation of seats for OBC: 27%
Reservation of seats for the person with disabilities: 3%
Note: The above percentage criterion is a matter to change as per the year by Indian govt.
CAT 2016 Application fee
For general and NC/OBC category candidates registration fee is Rs.1600/ and for the SC/ST/Person with Disability application fee is Rs.800/. CAT 2016 Admission Process:
The admission is truly based on personal score in CAT 2016 and the group discussion, written ability test, and personal interview. In short listing and ranking candidates, the institution may check the academic background, working background, academic performance, and other related inputs of the candidates.
CAT 2016 Exam Pattern
The cat 2016 paper will consist of total of 100 questions based on the quantitative ability & data interpretation and logical reasoning and verbal ability. The duration of CAT examination will be of 2 hours and 50 minutes. The exam will be conduct through online mode only. Each question carried 3 marks; there is also negative marking of 1 mark for the wrong answer. No mark will be offered to questions that are not answered.
CAT exam 2016 will be a computer based test. Candidates are allowed to give answer of questions by using mouse only. Under no circumstances, candidates will be allowed to use keyboard, otherwise it will lock the terminal.
Test duration will be for 2 hours and 50 minutes. Extra time will be provided to candidates belong to PWD/DA category.
Language mode of the exam will be English only.
Total number of questions will be 100 and all questions will be multiple choice questions.
