Overview on CMAT

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is an online computer-based test conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), India. It is a national-level admission test for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management program approved by AICTE.


A candidate should have passed with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to reserved category) in Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.

Test Duration and Pattern:

Time Duration: 3 hours
Number of Questions: 25 questions per section
Total Section: 4 sections

Scoring Pattern:

While each correct answer carries 4 marks, each wrong answer will carry 1 negative marking.

Online Registration started from10 October 2016
Last date to fill and submit the online application form10 December 2016

Trial Test will be available on15 December 2016
Admit Card to be released on13 January 2017
CMAT 2017 to be held on28 or 29 January 2017 (Exam will be held on either of the days)
