Firstly, the pattern of MICAT along with the MICAT syllabus is different from other MBA Entrance Exams. As most of the MBA entrance exams are made up entirely of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). What is the XAT exam?

Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension Tips
There will be 35 multiple-choice questions in the VARC segment. This portion of the question paper carries the most weight and is generally of moderate difficulty.
The RC passages are straightforward and factual. This section is manageable since there are no inference-based passages.
Since each passage is usually 800 words long, candidates must concentrate on reading speed.
Read editorials in newspapers, blogs on the internet, novels and short stories, business studies, and so on.

NAT Questions: A new type of Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions in XAT pattern 2021 had been introduced by XLRI. To answer the NAT questions candidates have to use the virtual keypad appearing on the computer screen and enter the numerical answer. However, there was no such question in 2021
Penalty for Un-attempted Questions: Each un-attempted question beyond 8 questions carries a negative marking penalty of 0.10 mark per unattempted question in revised XAT exam pattern 2021.
No Essay Writing Test: There is no descriptive question on the Essay Writing test in the revised XAT pattern 2021.
XAT Time Duration Reduced: XAT 2021 exam pattern will have a time duration of three hours instead of earlier three and a half hours.
25 Minutes Extra for Visually Impaired Candidates: XAT 2021 exam pattern offers 25 minutes extra time for the scribe to complete the part-1 (first 3 sections) of the XAT exam. No time concession is given for GK section
