IPMAT – Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test

Summary

Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore). The national level test is a gateway for admission to the five- year Integrated Program in Management offered at IIM Indore. IPMAT 2019 exam was conducted on May 10, 2019. The IPMAT 2019 Registration window was open till April 14, 2019.
IPMAT 2019 was held in computer-based test mode followed by Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).
The program is spread across a period of 5 years, and consists of 15 terms. Every year constitutes of 3 terms of 3 months duration.
In 2018, the examination was conducted in computer-based mode on May 11, 2018.
Two Phases of IPM
IIM Indore IPM is broadly divided into two Phases:
1.First three years of the programme, and
2.Last two years.
The first three years build a foundation, and the last two years focus on Business Management. In addition to Class work, IPM students are required to complete a social internship at the end of Year 3, and a business internship between Years 4 and 5. This experiential learning inculcates leadership qualities in them and hones their managerial skills further.

Eligibility

IPMAT eligibility 2019 is set of requirements as mentioned by IIM Indore, that students must fulfill for admission to the five-year Integrated Programme in Management. The eligibility criteria for IPMAT 2019 is as under –
IPMAT Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate should have scored a minimum of 60% in class 10th/SSC and class 12th/ HSC or equivalent examination in case of General and NC-OBC category.
The candidates must have passed the qualifying examination in the previous three years of the year in which the candidate is Appearing.
Also, the candidate should be of maximum 20 years of age.
The candidate should have scored a minimum of 55% in class 10th/SSC and class 12th/ HSC or equivalent examination in case of SC, ST and PWD (DA) category

State Wise Eligibility Criteria for General and NC/OBC category
Candidates applying for the exam should have obtained an aggregate of 60% in both class 10th and class 12th or the overall score of SAT1 should be 1600 out of 2400
Candidates who will be appearing for class 12th examination or are waiting for the results can also apply for the examination
The candidate should not be more than 20 years of age in the year he/she is appearing for the exam.
SC, ST and PWD/DA category
Candidates applying for the exam should have obtained an aggregate of 55% in both class 10th and class 12th or the overall score of SAT1 should be 1475 out of 2400
Candidates who will be appearing for class 12th examination or are waiting for the results can appear for the examination
The candidate should exceed 22 years of age in the year he/she is appearing for the exam.

Process

Step 1: Fill in the Application form
Candidates willing to appear for IPMAT need to register for the exam. It must be noted that the application form must be submitted before the deadline. It is advised to check the eligibility criteria before filling in the application form.
The fee is Rs 1400 for general category/NC-OBC and Rs 700 for reserved category candidates. Candidates must note that the fee can be paid only in online mode. Candidates can choose to pay the fee by any of the following:
Credit/Debit Card
NetBanking
Step 2: Download IPMAT Admit Card
Candidates who register successfully for the exam will get access to the admit cards. The same will be available at least a week before the date of exam. Registered candidates can download their respective admit cards from the official website by entering their Registered ID and password.

Step 3: Appear for IPMAT
The dates for IPMAT have not been announced yet. IPMAT is conducted in an online mode and the duration of the exam is 2 hours. Registered candidates need to appear for the exam where they will be assessed on Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Question-SA) and Verbal Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ).
Step 4: Check IPMAT  Result
Test-takers can check their results online. The result is generally declared within 10-15 day from the date of exam. Candidates need to enter their application form number, email ID or Date of Birth in order to access their result.
Step 5: WAT-PI
Candidates who clear the written test are further called in for the WAT-PI process. Shortlisted candidates need to appear for an Essay writing round and are then interviewed by a panelist of IIM Indore.

Exam Pattern

IPMAT 2019 was conducted in a Computer-Based Mode on May 10, 2019.IPMAT will comprise of 100 questions for 4 marks each.

Quantitative Ability -> Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs)

Marking Scheme:
Each question of IPMAT 2019 carries 4 marks.
In case of each wrong attempt , one mark will be deducted except for QA section with Short Answer type questions.
No marks will be given or deducted for questions that are not attempted by candidates.

The candidates were given to choose two test cities at the time of online registration. The same was applicable for both days in case the candidate has opted for test for both days.

Application Form

The registrations for IPMAT 2019 began on second week of March(tentative) and candidates needed to fill the application form till Second or third week of April in online mode only. Before filling IPMAT application form, it is important to check the eligibility criteria of the exam. Applications of only those candidates will be accepted who are eligible to apply for the exam.
The application fee for candidates belonging to General and NC-OBC categories is Rs 3, 450/-, and for candidates belonging to SC, ST and PWD (DA) categories is Rs 1,770/-.

Candidates can fill in the application form by following the below mentioned steps:
->Visit the official website of IIM Indore
->Click on the registration link of IPMAT
->The candidate needs to generate a User ID and password
->This User ID and password will also be sent to the candidate through registered Email and SMS
->Next, the candidate needs to re-login using the credentials
->The next step is to enter the required details in the application form. candidates must ensure that they enter the correct details as the same cannot be changed later
->Pay the registration fee through Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking
->Candidates belonging to reserved categories need to submit valid and attested certificates supporting their reservation category

Admit Card

The admit card of IPMAT was available on the official website. Candidates needed to download their admit card by entering details i.e. Application Number/User ID and Password in the login window.
The IPMAT admit card was issued only to those candidates who successfully registered for the exam before the last date of registration. The admit card will be available only in online mode at official website of IIM Indore.

Steps to download IPMAT Admit Card
To download the admit card, follow the below-mentioned steps:
i.Visit the official website
ii.Click on the ‘Admit Card’ tab
iii.Enter Application Number or User ID and Password
iv.Login using the above mentioned credentials
v.IPMAT 2019 admit card will appear on the screen
vi.Download and take a printout of the same
Details on IPMAT Admit Card
Candidates should check the details mentioned on the admit card. The admit card must contain the following information:
Name of the candidate
Signature and photograph of the candidate
Roll Number
Time and venue of the exam centre
Instruction related to the exam
Space for invigilator’s signature
In case any of the details is incorrect or missing, the same should be reported immediately to the officials. Also, in case the admit card is inaccessible, the candidate should immediately get in touch with the authorities.
Candidates must remember that the admit card is an important documents that is required to be carried to the exam hall. Permission to enter the exam hall will not be given to candidates found without their admit cards.
