How to prepare for CAT 2018CATKing
CAT preparation holds much importance because it’s a gateway to your dream colleges like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta. So, How to prepare for CAT 2018, how to line up strategies becomes very important.
You can start with CATKing’s Books; where we begin with Basic set of books. You can give 2 – 3 months to complete the entire basics set of books of all the subjects.
Subjects are: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability and Logical Reasoning.
After These 3 months, continue with the Advance level books and take 4th months to practice and complete it thoroughly. In these 4th months you should give at-least 8 -10 mocks to check your preparation. Not only Full length mocks but also give sectional tests and topic wise test to increase the accuracy and to learn time management.
Do read Norman Lewis and other novels and management & leadership related books to improve reading comprehension skills. As you know that Reading comprehension comprises of 24 questions which is 24% of the exam. Hence keep reading with other subjects.
Very importantly solve 1 RC and 1 DI set and 1 Puzzle every day till the exam. You see the increasing accuracy in these topics. Do this without fail in-fact make it a rule to crack these exams.
After these 5 to 6 months, revise all the books again in another 2 to 3 months and the mocks as well; you can even practice some other books like Arun Sharma’s book etc to keep practicing varieties of questions.
Now pace up and give more mocks and analyze well to strategize for the Exam day. At this point of time you should know your strengths and weaknesses and study accordingly. Before the Final CAT you should at-least give 35 – 40 mocks for sure.
