The CAT 2024 exam is scheduled for November 24, 2024, and will serve as a key step for admission to the 21 IIMs and top MBA colleges across India. IIM Calcutta will be conducting this year’s exam. As per the official CAT notification released on July 28, 2024, the registration process will open on August 1, 2024, and close on September 20, 2024.

NPAT Exam Overview

  1. Exam Structure: The NPAT exam is conducted in an online mode and consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The duration of the exam is usually 120 minutes.
  2. Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria for appearing in the NPAT exam may vary depending on the program you are applying for. Generally, candidates should have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with a minimum specified percentage.

  3. Exam Sections: The NPAT exam typically consists of three sections:

    a. Quantitative and Numerical Ability: This section assesses the mathematical and numerical skills of the candidates, including topics like algebra, geometry, arithmetic, statistics, etc.

    b. Reasoning and General Intelligence: This section evaluates the logical and analytical reasoning abilities of the candidates. It may include questions related to series completion, logical puzzles, coding-decoding, verbal reasoning, etc.

    c. Proficiency in English Language: This section tests the English language proficiency of the candidates. It covers areas like reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, etc.

  4. Marking Scheme: The marking scheme may vary from year to year. Generally, each correct answer is awarded one mark, and there may be negative marking for incorrect answers.

  5. Application Process: Candidates interested in appearing for the NPAT exam need to fill out an online application form on the official website of NMIMS. The application process usually involves providing personal details, educational qualifications, and paying the application fee.

  6. Admissions: Based on the NPAT scores and other criteria set by NMIMS, candidates are shortlisted for further rounds, such as group discussions (GD) and personal interviews (PI). The final selection is based on the overall performance of the candidate in the NPAT exam, GD, PI, and other relevant factors.
