TISSNET exam syllabus
First, we will begin with one of the important sections but also scoring one. And it’s important because it’s the only section that has a cut-off so being well-prepared for it is advantageous.
Section I: General Awareness
Here’s a video of the critical issues of general knowledge that will help you pass the cut-off and boost your overall ranking.
- This section, as the name suggests will contain questions based on general awareness.
- But this section does not limit itself to current affairs or day-to-day happenings.
- In this section, you are expected to everything about the world’s affairs. Day to Day events happening around the world. It ranges around “static GK or current GK”
- According to last year’s analysis, the questions were not even in the range of the above two.
- Your focus should be on Ecological and Environmental topics. Because they are expected to recur in most cases.
- Social awareness of another important topic. Focus on General awareness.
- Since the questions are highly unpredictable it is advised to focus more on social awareness topics. And also refer to past year’s questions
- Sections like these have no particular portion. And hence it is better to prepare for all the sections
- The paper of the year 2016 was more focused on budget, government schemes, and independence day
- The paper of the year 2017 was more focused on Social laws as compared to schemes

Section II: Mathematics & Logical Reasoning
- These sections mainly consist of mathematical and logical puzzles which require critical and Quick thinking
- All kinds of logical puzzles are advised to be practiced.
- The puzzles that appear in exams are usually very lengthy and require a lot of calculations
- It is better to take note of a few tricks which will help in escalating your solving skills.
- You must take care of the smallest of details as slightest of the mistakes can lead to a wrong answer
- These types of questions demand strong fundamental knowledge and application
- Arithmetic questions in last year’s papers were ranging from easy to moderate
- Strong fundamental knowledge should be there while attempting these types of questions
- You must have good detailing skills as well as analytical skills
- It is also said by experts that DI can be a game-changer for aspirants
- It is essential to focus on DI as the calculation is very extensive
- Students must use the law of approximation to eliminate options that are not very close.
Section III: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension:
- Anybody with decent vocabulary skills can score very well on the exam
- Students should refer to Norman Lewis which provides extensive training on vocabulary.
- For more detailed and extensive videos on the verbal section, you will get easy and achievable tricks that will make your preparation easy
The dilemma of books solved that reduces the difficulty to crack the TISSNET exam:
- The difficulty level of the TISSNET exam is moderate.
- So have strong command over the subjects and the style of the test.
- Yeah, we’re oblivious to the idea that the novel is better than Fatter.
- But let me break it to you the book should have quality content and not quantitative content.
- Rather Fatter books are injurious to health so choose your books wisely
- Here is the list of books that you can refer to for your TISSNET exams that are going to be helpful.
Also, practice with actual TISSNET Mocks
Important topics & authors that will help to crack the TISSNET exam :
1) Indian Policy and Constitution: For this topic do not read big fat books but some similar kinds of books recommended for UPSC exams. Details are not needed to encourage you to browse any information on the internet that will be fairly reliable and helpful compared to the books.
2) Society and social issues: Because social and general awareness is the center of all the tests, it is important to concentrate more on social and general awareness. Refer to Indian Social Issues-Ram Ahuja.
3) Current affairs: So, for this section strictly resort to only Newspapers. You can purchase some of Pearson or Manorama’s novels, too. It is best not to choose big and heavy books but to choose what suits you in the end.
4) Maths and Logical Reasoning:
- How to Prepare Quantitative Aptitude for CAT’ by Arun Sharma
- ‘Quantitative Aptitude’ by RS Aggarwal
You can also refer to various entrance exam mocks and papers like MBA (CAT, CET, etc.)
5) Verbal Ability:
- Refer Wren and Martin High School grammar book
- Also, refer to “ Word Power Made Easy” by Norman Lewis
When choosing your reference materials, be careful, distribute your time evenly to all sections, and do not ignore or underestimate either section as all are equally essential.
* It’s not enough when you’re ready for exams and it’s really important to make daily mocks
This helps improve the pace as well as get the hang of the exam paper sequence.
And how to time, i.e allotting time to the sections.
The TISSNET Entrance examination is of mild difficulty. So you should have a solution for that so make sure you don’t have a static plan.
Process after the TISSNET exam & results
Group Discussion/Pre-Interview Test (PIT)
After that, the student/applicant clears the TISSNET Entrance exam for the next step, which is the method of placement. And this method is a Pre-Interview test that can be either a group conversation or a written test. The PIT usually runs from 30-40 minutes
The process also differs concerning various programs some have a PIT two sections. An essay composition, for example, is accompanied by case study questions focused on it.
Personal Interview (PI)
After that, the next part of the process is the applicants clearing the PIT are then called for a personal interview. This is much like the personal interview each B-school is having. Where you are interviewed about your work experience, records, and a variety of questions regarding the services you have selected.
