Eligibility for CAT
The candidate is eligible for CAT if he/she satisfies the following criteria:

Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institution.
- A minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA is required in the Bachelor’s degree.
- For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PWD/DA categories, the minimum percentage required is 45%.

Calculation of Percentage/CGPA:
- The percentage obtained in the Bachelor’s degree should be calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned college/institution.
- In the case of grades/CGPA, the conversion should be done based on the method defined by the respective university/organization.
- If there is no conversion scheme provided, the candidate's CGPA should be divided by the maximum possible CGPA and then multiplied by 100.

Final Year Candidates:
- Candidates appearing for the final year of their Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification are also eligible to apply for the CAT exam.

The break-up of Time and Questions section-wise are:
- Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension - 24 Questions - 40 minutes
- Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning - 20 Questions- 40 minutes
- Quantitative Ability - 22 Questions - 40 minutes
CAT 2020 Improve your logical Reasoning The exam is conducted in two sessions- morning and Evening Slot on the same day. There are two types of scores in the exam: a raw score and a scaled score. The raw score is calculated for each section based on the number of questions one answered correctly, incorrectly, or left unattempted. Candidates are given +3 points for each correct answer and -1 point for each incorrect answer. No points are given for questions that are not answered. The raw scores are then adjusted through a process called equating. Equated raw scores are then placed on a common scale or metric to ensure appropriate interpretation of the scores. This process is called scaling.

Duration and Structure:
- Total duration of the exam: 120 minutes (2 hours).
- Each section is allocated 40 minutes.
- Candidates cannot choose the section to begin with or switch between sections during the exam.
- Questions must be answered sequentially, from section 1 to section 3.

Total Marks and Marking Scheme:
- Total marks for the CAT paper: 198.
- Each question carries three marks.
- Negative marking: -1 mark for each wrong attempt.
- No marks are deducted for unanswered questions.

Question Types:
- Some questions in each section may not be of multiple-choice type.
- Candidates will have to type the solutions on the screen for such questions.

- A basic on-screen calculator will be provided for computation during the exam.

Online Registration:
- Candidates need to register online on the official CAT website. iimcat.ac.in
- The registration process involves providing personal details and creating login credentials.

- After successful registration, candidates need to log in using the created credentials.

Filling the Application Form:
- Once logged in, candidates fill out the CAT application form with the required personal and academic details.
- Candidates need to select four preferred test cities in order of preference.

Payment of Application Fee:
- The application fee can be paid online using a Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.

Test City Allocation:
- Candidates will be assigned a test center based on their first preferred city.
- If the first preference is unavailable, the process repeats for the second, third, and fourth preferred cities.

No Rush Required:
- Candidates are advised not to rush during the initial registration days to block slots.
- They do not have the option to choose the exam center directly; instead, they select preferred cities.
STEP 1: CAT Application Procedure
- The CAT application form is to be submitted online with payment of the application fee through a Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
STEP 2: CAT Admit Cards
- CAT admit cards will be available for download on the official website. CAT aspirants must download their admit cards from the official website as they won’t be sent to them by post.
STEP 3: CAT Results
CAT 2024 results will be announced on the IIMCAT website within 20-30 days of the exam. The CAT scorecard will have sectional and overall marks as well as percentiles. Here’s the process to download CAT 2024 result:

CAT Exam Admit Card Download
CAT admit card 2024 will be available for download on the official website only. To download the CAT 2024 admit card, candidates will have to use the CAT admit card login credentials and follow the steps given below:
- Visit the official CAT 2024 website - iimcat.ac.in
- Click on 'Login'
- Enter registration ID and password
- Click on 'admit card'
- Click on download and save the admit card on desktop
- Take a print out of the CAT 2024 admit card
CAT Answer Key
CAT answer key is expected to be released 4-5 days after the CAT exam. The answer keys are released online on the official CAT website. The candidates can check their responses by login into the CAT website by using their CAT ID and password. CAT answers key carries each candidate’s name, registration number, questions, and his/her responses.

CAT Exam Results
