Interview Experience – 11th March 2021

Three Panelists: 2 Male (M1, M2) and 1 Female (F1)

M1

  • Q: Hi, please tell me something about yourself that is not written in your form.
    Me: Told about my recent job role.
  • Q: So how will that help you here and in an MBA?
    Me: Told.
  • Q: So you work at Cognizant. Which city has the highest number of employees?
    Me: Told.
  • Q: Why Chennai? Why not anywhere else?
    Me: Told.
  • Q: Have you heard about Byju's?
    Me: Yes, sir.
  • Q: How does it earn money?
    Me: Told.
  • Q: So my 10-year-old daughter is taking the class. You mean she is paying for it?
    Me: No, you as a parent are.
  • M1: I'm good. (He passed the discussion to F1).

F1

  • Q: Hi, so tell me why MBA and what are your long-term plans?
    Me: Told.
  • Q: Okay, so I'm from Japan, and I don't know much about India. If you have to sell something to me, what are you going to market it as?
    Me: Told.
  • F1: Nice. I'm done.

M2

  • Q: So you are from West Bengal. It's election time, right?
    Me: Yes, sir.
  • Q: There's negative news that always goes around about WB. Why do you think that is? And how can it be improved?
    Me: Told with some examples.
  • Q: Why is there less industry compared to other states like Andhra and Tamil Nadu?
    Me: Told with past events and examples.
  • Q: Okay, suppose you get good funding to start a business, but you also get a very high-paying job abroad. Which one will you choose?
    Me: Chose the first one as it aligned with my long-term goals.
  • Q: Why, and what business?
    Me: Told.
  • Q: Have you heard about the term MSME?
    Me: Yes, told the full form.
  • M2: Okay, I'm done. Thank you, it was a pleasure talking to you.

Experience: Smooth and conversational.


IIT Delhi DoMS Interview Experience 3:

Interview Experience – Political and Governance Consulting Aspirant

Panel Composition: 2 Male (M1, M2) and 1 Female (F)

M1

  1. How are you? Tell us about yourself so that we can proceed.
  2. You want to build your career in political and governance consulting. What is the incentive behind that?
  3. What do you mean by a well-meaning politician?

M2

  1. Do you have work experience? Were you placed? Why didn’t you approach any social entrepreneur to get a fair idea about what it is?
  2. What did you do after graduation? There’s a vast difference between you and the picture on your application photo. Did you lose weight or gain weight?

F

  1. Give examples of social entrepreneurs who did their B.Tech from IIT and then pursued an MBA.
  2. IIT BHU is itself a big brand. Why do you want to do an MBA from IIT Delhi?

M1 (Again)

  1. Did you apply for any political consulting firms?
  2. Why didn’t you join I-PAC?
  3. Why were you not interested in working in the IT department of I-PAC?

Asked about IIT Delhi’s DMS E-Cell and whether there are social entrepreneurs who have completed their MBA from there. The response included details about the incentives provided to individuals interested in the social sector.
