IIM Calcutta Admission Process and Important Dates 2025
IIM Calcutta MBA Admission Process is through CAT and is a two-step process. In the first step, candidates are short-listed for the Personal Interview (PI) round from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the program, and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the program. IIM Calcutta will shortlist candidates for admission based on their CAT 2024 score, academic performance, and other factors, with the following weightage distribution:
CAT 2024 Overall Score: 56 points. The score will be calculated by dividing the candidate's total CAT 2024 scaled score by the maximum CAT 2024 scaled score and then multiplying by 56.
Class 10 Marks: 10 points. Awarded if the candidate has secured 80% or more in Class 10.
Class 12 Marks: 15 points. Awarded if the candidate has secured 80% or more in Class 12.
Gender Diversity Factor: 4 points. This weightage is available only for women and transgender candidates.
The admission process for the IIMC PhD program is detailed below:
- Based on the information provided by the applicants in their application, the candidates will be shortlisted (on the recommendation of the respective areas) for an interview
- The mode of conducting the Interview i.e. either Online / In-person will be notified/intimated well ahead of the process.
- Candidates will be admitted to the program based on a combination of multiple parameters, as also specified by the respective areas.
- Admission Parameters may include the applicant's performance in GMAT, GRE, CAT, GATE, JRF (NET) score, past academic performance, work experience, interview performance, etc.
- Registration for the Doctoral Programme will be notified separately on the website.

- Apply online on the IIMC official website with an application fee of Rs.4000/-. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their GMAT scores obtained during the last three years of GMAT exams.
- IIM Calcutta will conduct personal interviews for the shortlisted candidates
- Candidates will be assessed for final admission on Academic background, Professional experience, GMAT score, Personal interviews, Statement of purpose, and Recommendation.

IIM Calcutta Cut off 2025
IIM Calcutta Cutoff for MBA admission has been liberalized. The candidate must have scored a minimum sectional percentile of 75 in Quantitative Ability (QA) and 80 percentile in each of the other two sections – ‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning' (DILR) and ‘Verbal and Reading Comprehension' (VARC) in CAT exam. A candidate must have scored a minimum overall percentile of 85 in CAT.
Only the candidates above the minimum cut-offs in the CAT sectional percentile ranks, the overall percentile rank, and obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT will be considered for all the subsequent stages. These are cut-offs used for preparing the first shortlist. The actual CAT cut-offs for those who are called for an interview could be much higher.
