Indian Institute of Management Nagpur started its journey in the year 2015 under the mentorship of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. The Institute’s first batch of Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management commenced on the 23rd of July 2015.

IIM Nagpur shifted to its new 132-acre campus, situated at MIHAN, Nagpur, Maharashtra, in November 2021.

IIM Nagpur, being a new generation IIM, aims to create value-driven leaders, global managers, and entrepreneurs with strong conceptual foundations and analytical approach to help them be the best in whichever field they choose. The aim is to innovatively address the needs of a modern India, and connecting aspirations and realities to attain benchmarks that are respected internationally. IIM Nagpur is gradually increasing its portfolio of activities to fulfill these objectives.

A book launch ceremony at IIM Nagpur of the book ‘Data-Driven Decision Making for Business Transformation – Maximizing Success with an AI-Powered No-Code Platform’ co-authored by Mr. Kothandaraman Sridharan and Mr. Bastin Robins was a grand success. Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director of IIM Nagpur, expressed the innovative aspects of this book and how it impacts business transformation with data-driven decision-making in the AI sector. Mr. Sridharan said, “In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, one’s ability to make an informed and data-driven decision is no longer a luxury or privilege. It has turned into an ardent necessity considering the rapid transformations every day. Let’s assess how we generate vast amounts of data daily. Looking back into this context, we find that until 2003, we had generated approximately 5 Exabytes of data, unlike today, when we generate the same amount every two days. Future decision-makers must understand how to utilize data effectively and prudently.”

Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, Indian Institute of Management Nagpur, was invited to sign an MoU with the Government of Maharashtra for Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA) by the Hon’ble Shri Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister, GoM, Hon’ble Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister, GoM, in the presence of Shri Rajesh Vinayakrao Kshirsagar, Vice Chairman, MITRA and the Shri Parveen Pardeshi, CEO MITRA, today at the Varsha, CM residence, Mumbai. This MoU will start a new journey of growth and smoothen the way for the commitment of the Government of Maharashtra, which is working on several important initiatives to help the state to achieve $1 Trillion economy by 2027 and a staggering $3.5 Trillion by 2047. Since its inception in 2015, IIM Nagpur has been on a remarkable journey of one decade with several accolades. Today, IIM Nagpur is one of the Institutes of Eminence in the country and is widely known worldwide for imparting high-quality education.
