The Government of Maharashtra has established State Common Entrance Test Cell as per Section 10 of the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act ,2015. The CET Cell conducts various entrance exams for Admission to Professional courses in the state of Maharashtra, India.

Selection Process

 

Process Description
Group Discussion (GD) A case or group activity is presented to the participants. Students discuss among themselves to arrive at a solution.
Written Ability Test (WAT) Each student receives two questions to answer. Responses must be written in 100-200 words for each question. The total time allotted is 5-10 minutes.
Personal Interview (PI) This involves a personal interaction with the panel of the college to which the student is applying.

 

DTE CAP Process

Steps Description

1. Candidate Registration

Candidates register to participate in the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) 2025. Candidates (Maharashtra-State, All-India/NRI/OCI/PIO etc) register online via the CET Cell portal.

2. Filling Online Application

Candidates fill out the online application form for CAP 2025, indicating their preferences for courses and institutions.
3. Confirmation & Verification Candidates confirm their online application and undergo document verification and counseling, which may include brief group discussions (GD) and personal interviews (PI) at the Facilitation Centre (FC).
4. Publishing of Merit Lists Provisional merit lists are published, allowing candidates to submit grievances, which are then addressed before the final merit lists are released. Based on scores (state MBA/MMS CET or national exams in case of All-India category) and basic eligibility.
5. Display of Seat Matrix Availability of category-wise seats (Seat Matrix) for CAP Rounds I, II, and III is and  displayed. 
6. Option Form Confirmation Candidates fill out and confirm their online option form with preferences for institutes and courses before CAP Round I.
7. Provisional Allotment The provisional allotment of seats for CAP Rounds I, II, and III (often IV) is displayed, indicating the allotted institute and course.
8. Reporting & Acceptance Candidates report to the Admission Reporting Centre (ARC) and accept the offered seat as per the allotment of CAP Rounds I, II, and III.
9. Establishment of FCs The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) sets up approximately 190 Facilitation Centres (FCs) across various MBA colleges in Maharashtra for DTE CAP 2025.

10. Seat Surrender

Candidates can surrender their seats to participate in subsequent CAP rounds, aiming to secure admission to a better MBA college.
