MICA Admission Process and Important Dates 2025

The MICA application must be submitted online along with the requisite application fee of Rs. 2,100. While filling out the application, candidates are required to select and update the exam score(s) they wish to submit (CAT/XAT/GMAT).

MICA follows a comprehensive five-step admission process, which includes appearing for MICAT, shortlisting based on entrance exam scores, and a final selection round. The detailed admission process is as follows:

Step 1: Appear for an Accepted Entrance Exam

Candidates must apply and appear for at least one of the following entrance exams:

  • CAT (Common Admission Test)
  • XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)
  • GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)

Step 2: Register for MICA and MICAT

  • Apply for MICA admission online and select whether to appear for MICAT-I, MICAT-II, or both.
  • MICAT is MICA’s unique entrance test, focusing on creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Step 3: Shortlisting of Candidates

  • MICA evaluates candidates based on a combination of their MICAT scores and CAT/XAT/GMAT scores.
  • In the shortlisting process, MICA assigns 50% weightage to MICAT scores and 50% to CAT/XAT/GMAT scores.

Step 4: Final Selection Round (GE-PI)

Shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in the Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds, which are conducted at MICA Ahmedabad.

Step 5: Admission and Merit List

  • After the final selection process, candidates can check their admission status in the merit list.
  • Admission is offered based on a composite score that considers performance in MICAT, GE-PI, and CAT/XAT/GMAT scores.
  • Selected candidates must pay the admission fee to confirm their seat.

Selection Process (Batch 2025-2027)

  • Candidates who demonstrate an aptitude for expressing, assessing, and /or conceiving ideas that move people to action and achieve business results tend to stand a better chance of being shortlisted.

  • MICAT is a Computer Based Test (CBT) used for selection of PGDM/PGDM-C 2025- 2027 batch. It is conducted twice a year – First Saturday of December (2024) and last Saturday of January (2025). Candidates may choose to write both MICAT I & II. Better of the two MICAT Scores is considered. It has over 48 test centres across the country.

MICA Cut off 2025

MICA Scholarships (AY 2024-26)

MICA provides scholarships to deserving, meritorious, needy students and thereby helps reduce the burden of high education costs that students and their parents have to bear. The MICA Scholarships are awarded annually based on the student's overall academic performance and family income. The scholarships are awarded on a merit-cum-means basis to students currently pursuing studies at MICA and benefit students of the 2-year programmes, viz. the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Communications) - PGDM(C) and Post Graduate Diploma in Management - PGDM and the 1-year Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Crafting Creative Communications (CCC). The process of evaluating and awarding the scholarships is detailed and rigorous.

The criterion for selection is based on the following: (applicable to both PGP & CCC)

  • Family Income not exceeding Rs. 10 lakhs per annum

  • Student's academic performance (minimum CGPA of 3.00) and class attendance record (minimum 80% across all subjects) in the first year (applicable to PGP- 2)

  • Other achievements (e.g., winning state/national/international level competitions)

  • Scrutiny of Income-Tax Returns and Bank Statements of all the earning members of the family for the last 3 years

  • A brief justification of applying for the scholarship (Separate in case of applying for Equity Scholarship)

  • Family Background

The Selection Process involves the following:

  • Notification and Announcement to students inviting applications

  • Preliminary scrutiny of applications and financial documents as per respective criteria laid down

  • Interview and Interaction with the shortlisted students by the Scholarships Committee (consisting of MICA faculty and staff).

  • Recommendations of selected students by the Committee

  • Official notification to the final selected students

The maximum number of scholarships to be awarded will be between 25 to 30 (to PGP-1, PGP-2, and CCC) in a year.

The MICA Scholarships would be awarded to students of PGP-1 (between 11 to 13) and PGP-2 (up to 12). The Scholarship amount would be in the range of 25% to 100% of the Tuition Fees per student in the programme.

This apart, 1 or 2 students of PGP-1 will stand to receive sponsorship of up to Rs. 5 Lakhs from Prof. Bikram Bindra, MICA's Adjunct Faculty. These scholarships given by Prof. Bindra will be known as the "Equity Scholarship" and will be applicable to those students from PGP-1 who represent a minority status based on religion, ability, sexual or gender identity.

Please note that the final discretion to award the scholarships rests with the MICA Management.

MICA’s Post Graduate Programme (PGDM / PGDM-C) has a predominant focus on Strategic Marketing and Communications. Our curriculum is designed to integrate conceptual rigour and industry relevance. The key focal points of our curriculum are an interdisciplinary perspective and holistic approach and it aims at being disruptive and challenging the status quo.

The PGDM program emphasizes business analytics and data-driven decision-making, preparing students for success in a data-centric environment. In contrast, PGDM-C focuses on creativity, communication, and media management, refining storytelling, digital communication, and creative leadership skills in an AI-driven world. The recruitment programme is continuous, typically from December onwards. The summer internship recruitments begin in September. Lateral / experienced hiring takes place along with full-time recruitment during Placement Week in December/January. For specific dates for the current academic year please write to the Placement Manager. If you are a first time recruiter, please write to placements@micamail.in

The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art physical, communication and computing infrastructure to facilitate a smooth recruitment process. Computing facilities, projection facilities for multimedia presentations, telecommunication facilities for teleconferencing and seminar rooms and presentation halls for presentations/workshops can be arranged for your specific needs, by writing to the Placement Committee at MICA.

Taking students off-campus for the recruitment process is not a normal practice. However, this may be considered on a case-to-case basis. Please consult the Placement Committee at MICA to work out the details.

Students who have completed their first year of the course are available to join as summer interns from April to June. The internship may last for a minimum of eight weeks to a maximum of 10 weeks. Selection processes for Summer Recruitments begins in September.
