Established in 1981, S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) is one of the most sought-after B-Schools in the country. Located in Mumbai, S P Jain has an intake of around 700 students every year.

Gopal Balasubramanian Iyer, a PGPM student at SPJIMR, gives us some insights on a student’s life at S P Jain:

What was the first thing that you learnt at SPJIMR?

Developing business acumen. You cannot learn and enjoy your time in a B-school without developing the same. Also respecting your past and leveraging the same with the business knowledge of academia. (PGPM is for people with above 5 years of work ex)

Your favorite aspect about SPJIMR?

The learnings in and out of the campus.

 

How is the faculty at SPJIMR?

SPJIMR has some of the best faculty in the country. Most of them have publications in Ivey etc. Several of them have been successful leaders in their corporate lives as well. Mostly it is the passion with which they teach the students. They are ready to help out the students (provided the students do the homework)

 

How’s the culture at SPJIMR? Describe the cultural events and activities that happen in SPJIMR?

We do celebrate festivals; we have several events and activities for some causes, festivals, birthdays etc.

 

What do you think makes SPJIMR different from other MBA institutes?

Values. Inclusion of spirituality courses which are essential for business leaders of tomorrow.

 

Lastly, what’s next on your list of goals/achievements?

Take up a good role in the organization I am joining. Become an effective business leader in that organization and give back to the college and society at the same time. Get back to learning and mastering the guitar.
