Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the management of all the processes involved in the flow of raw materials into the industry, conversion of raw materials to finished and complete goods and then the flow of the finished goods out of the industry to the ultimate consumers through the distribution channels. Basically it involves the flow of goods and services from the point of start to its point of consumption.

Operation management refers to monitoring of business practices to create maximum effectiveness within the organization. It deals with converting labor and raw materials into services and finished goods in the most efficient and inexpensive way. It is a well defined process involves planning, executing, control, and monitoring of the activities with the aim of optimum utilization of resources, growth of business, time-based results, minimum costs and maximum customer satisfaction.
